Would you allow an agency that had the compassion of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) make health care decisions for you and your family?

Would you go to a hospital or doctor's office run by the employees of your local Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV)?

If your answer is "yes" to one or both of the questions above, then do nothing. If, however, you believe that you should be able to make your own health care decisions... if you want quality and affordable health care... then the time to take action is now.

At this very moment, three Republican Senators (Charles Grassley, Mike Enzi and Olympia Snowe) are meeting with Democrats behind closed doors in an attempt to strike a deal on ObamaCare. And if successful, their actions will effectively lead to government-run health care for all.

In short order, they'll attempt to pull so-called "compromise legislation" out of a hat. And, make no mistake, whatever plans and schemes they devise behind closed doors will give Barack Obama and proponents of ObamaCare essentially everything they want... paving the road to socialized medicine for you and your family... lack of choice... lack of quality care... rationing of services and a host of other evils.

The plain and simple truth is that the only thing keeping ObamaCare alive right now is the fact that Grassley and Enzi and Snowe are still playing political footsies with the opposition.

Without "compromise," ObamaCare would be dead on arrival. Take the possibility of "compromise" off the table and ObamaCare would simply wither on the vine:

Democrats in the Senate simply do not have the 60 votes needed to stop debate (break a filibuster) and pass the versions of ObamaCare that have already been passed out of committees in the House of Representatives. And thanks to millions of Americans making their voices heard, it is highly improbable right now that they will be able to obtain those votes.

Liberals in Congress know the public is dead-set against ObamaCare. Their constituents have made that very clear by bombarding their offices with phone calls and faxes - not to mention the reception they've received at town hall meetings across the country.

But... a recent poll commissioned by AARP - a huge proponent of ObamaCare - indicates that 76% of Americans would support health care legislation if they believe that Democrats are working with Republicans "to pass health care reform legislation."

The AARP poll simply confirms what proponents of ObamaCare have known for quite awhile... that the only way they will be able to pass ObamaCare is by convincing the public that they are working with Republicans.

And Grassley and Enzi and Snowe are giving them the means to do just that... they're giving it to them on a silver platter.

Why do Grassley and Enzi and Snowe feel somehow compelled to keep ObamaCare alive? Do they believe the American people actually want ObamaCare? If that's the reason, we can disabuse them of that notion right now.

But whatever the reason, our course of action is clear. We must demand that Grassley and Enzi and Snowe walk away from the table and stand with the American people.

Demand that they listen to the American people and defeat ObamaCare once and for all. Tell them that no amount of so-called "compromise" will make government-run health care acceptable to the American people. Tell these elected officials that the right thing is to jettison ObamaCare and that you blame Senators Grassley and Enzi and Snowe for keeping it alive. Tell them to use whatever means are at their disposal to push Grassley and Enzi and Snowe away from the negotiating table.

And finally, tell them to mount a united front against the proponents of ObamaCare. In short, tell them to show some spine and win this fight for the American people.

Where Have We Seen This Insanity Before?

Does this dysfunctional and counterproductive willingness on the part of Grassley and Enzi and Snowe to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory sound familiar? It should.

It's happened before. Remember when our elected officials tried to ram amnesty for 12-20 million illegal aliens down the throats of the American people?

Do you remember how, on a number of occasions, the American people, in resounding numbers (Republicans, Democrats and Independents), told our elected officials to just say no to amnesty... lock, stock and barrel?

Each time the American people told them no, our elected officials tried to produce so-called "compromise legislation" and tried to sell it to the American people.

Each time they brought so-called "compromise legislation" to the table, the American people (because most of us possess the ability to read) understood that there was no actual "compromise" in these pieces of "compromise legislation."

The American people knew that each proposal was just more of the same and as egregious as the first amnesty bill... a few words were changed but every proposal essentially led to amnesty for millions of illegal aliens.

Do you remember their very last attempt to sell all of us on so-called "compromise legislation?"

Do you remember seeing that photograph in the paper of that group of Senators uproariously laughing and slapping each other on the back as they emerged from their negotiations?

When the American people asked what was in that last so-called "compromise," we were all essentially told:

Don't you worry your sweet little heads over that... just trust us this time... we got it all worked out.

It was almost as if, when they emerged from that room, they were really laughing at all of us.

Of course the American people took decisive action... we called... we faxed... and together we finally broke the back of those bogus amnesty compromises.

So what do we do now that Grassley and Enzi and Snowe are trying to do the exact same thing... all over again?

We do the same thing we did then. Now is the time to show your outrage.

Make your voice heard now and we will defeat ObamaCare once and for all.

But Aren't They Starting To Talk Tough?

You might be saying, wait a minute, I heard that Grassley and Enzi and Snowe were backing away... talking tough....

Of course politicians love to walk the fence... play both sides.

The question you have to ask yourself is; if their tough words mean anything, why are they still at the table... why are they still negotiating with proponents of Obama's government-run health care scheme?

Consider the following entry from the liberal Washington Post. Read it carefully with a discerning eye.

"As the senior Republican on the Finance Committee, Grassley has the potential to attract GOP votes by giving his blessing to a bill.... In recent days, however, some Democrats have accused Grassley of trying to undermine the reform effort, for example by refusing to debunk rumors that the Democratic health bills would create 'death panels' empowered to decide whether the infirm live or die."

The Post goes on to state that Grassley "denied those claims and fired back at Obama."

So did Grassley fire back by talking about how the Democrat-backed legislation would, in fact, empower the government to essentially make end-of-life decisions?

According to the Post, Grassley simply "questioned" Obama's willingness to pass a "bipartisan bill."

Is Grassley talking tough because the opposition is saying he is "refusing to debunk rumors that the Democratic health bills would create 'death panels'...?"

Shouldn't Grassley be angrily stating something to the effect of: I refuse to debunk the truth. The legislation that came out of the Pelosi-led House will encourage rationing... and government will, under that proposed legislation, ultimately be empowered to decide who is worthy of live-saving treatment and who is not.

Isn't it time to let our elected officials know that, Grassley and Enzi and Snowe can convince the American people that they are indeed talking tough by walking away from the negotiating table?

Let them know that anything else is just empty platitudes.

A "Compromise" That Is Not A Compromise...?

When is a compromise not really a compromise? A recent trial balloon from the Obama Administration provides an excellent illustration.

Last week, media reports surfaced that the Obama Administration was willing to "compromise" by dropping the government-run "public option" from ObamaCare and allowing a so-called "not-for-profit co-op" to take its place.

But that was no "compromise." It was essentially nothing more than a change in terminology.

As Connie Hair with Human Events put it:

"They are merely changing terminology yet again in their attempt to cloak their plans for a government takeover of health care. A skunk by any other name is just as stinky."

Political pundit Dick Morris echoed those sentiments:

"The fundamental equation that means worse and worse medical care for our seniors remains exactly as it was.... The result will be precisely the same whether or not there is a public option - massive rationing of medical services to the elderly."

So what's the difference between the "Public-Option" and a "Co-Op?" Effectively nothing.

As Hair put it, the statists that have taken over the Democrat party are only after "control of every health care dollar spent in this country" and they "consider the co-op merely a name change."

Even prominent Democrats, Obama included, have admitted as much in the past. Hair pulled out a few choice quotes:

"I think in theory you can imagine a co-operative meeting that definition [of a 'public option']." - President Obama, July 29, Time Magazine

"We're going to have some type of public option, call it 'co-op,' call it what you want." - Senate Majority Leader Reid, July 10, Washington Post

"You could theoretically design a co-op plan that had the same attributes as a public plan." - Health and Human Services Secretary Sebelius, June 27, Bloomberg

"Chairman Baucus has asked me to sit down with [Sen.] Kent Conrad to see if we can use the co-op model to achieve the same goals as a public plan." - Sen. Chuck Schumer, June 15, Roll Call

"It will have, coming out of the House, a public option. The only debate on that is what it will be called." - Speaker Pelosi, July 13, Reuters

"The [co-op has] to be written in a way that accomplishes the objectives of a public option." - Sen. Max Baucus, June 12, Politico

In short, the specter of "compromise" is not just on the table... it is imminent... it's a certainty. It may be called a "co-op" ... it may be called something else... but it's coming.

But this time, you not only know it is coming... you also know how we can stop it.

Proponents of ObamaCare will try to change the name. They'll call it "compromise," but the game will remain the same... health care rationing, health care for illegal aliens, end of life counseling... that will not change.

Those who jump on the "compromise" bandwagon will allow this to happen. The blame will rest at their feet.

It's time to let conservatives in Congress know that we want Grassley, Enzi and Snowe off the "compromise" bandwagon so that ObamaCare can simply go away, never to be heard from again.
